Wedding day nerves
Don’t let the the nerves and anxiety of getting married stop you from enjoying one of the best experiences of your life. Getting married isn’t just about one day, it’s a journey from the day you said yes to the honeymoon after. And what's the best thing about life? the journey, the destination, or the wedding day in your situation, it’s the cherry on top, icing on the cake, the coup de grâce if you like.
Best advice I can give is enjoy the lead up, try not to fret over getting everything perfect, hunting for perfection only leads to more imperfection on a wedding day. Of course plan, prepare and communicate well prior to the wedding, enrol trusted friends or family to assist on the day with helping you. Choose a suitable wedding venue that will offer support in how the day runs smoothly. An understanding patient experienced photographer (Me :) ), shameless plug sorry) who's well versed in managing time and people on the day of the wedding.
When sending out invitations, be thoughtful, invite people who genuinely love to be at weddings and want to see you have the happiest day. Having guests and family there on the day that get on will help to ensure the day is a blast and the right energy is there throughout.
Besides choosing a photographer, I think having really good music or entertainment on the day is one of the most important things. A dj, band who gets people up on the floor to music that resonates with your guests can help create amazing moments and memories. This is the part of the day I really enjoy as the adrenaline is pumping and people are being themselves more.
So that’s it really, I could write much more but I’m a photographer 1st and writer second; I will add more photography posts over time. Hope some of what I wrote here is helpful to one of many newly engaged couples out there.
